We are actively recruiting a bookkeeping paraprofessional to help us continue to grow and provide the excellent client service that we are known for. The position will provide ample opportunity to work on a variety of client projects in industries served by Atherton & Associates, listed above.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years of experience in heavy bookkeeping environment (understand debits and credits, bank reconciliations, etc.).
  • Ability to work proficiently in QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online
    • QuickBooks Pro-Advisor is a plus.
    • QBO Time and QBO Payroll knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and Ten Key.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Superior client service with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously (multi-task).

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare financial records closing as of month-end/quarter-end/year-end.
  • Post and reconcile banking and credit card(s) activity in financial records.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations.
  • Working knowledge of fixed asset capitalization rules.
  • Support form 1099s preparation accounting process, have working knowledge on 1099 requirements.
  • Enter invoices/sales receipts and initiate accounts payable payments (bill payment)
  • Sales tax requirements working knowledge
  • Understand basis accounting concepts and be able to implement with help of accountants.
