Qualifications:

  • A./B.S. degree in accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidates are preferred.
  • Two or more years of experience in tax preparation (individual, corporation, partnership). accounting firm, demonstrating a progression in complexity of tax tasks.
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
  • Proven technical skills with MS Office to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Competence with tax compliance and research software including Pro Systems and CCH Engagement.
  • Ability to lead, prioritize, thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong tax research and writing skills.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to focus on complex tasks, understand the Firm’s comprehensive compliance process and persevere to bring work to completion for review.
  • Prepares more complex tax returns, organizes work papers, maintains open items list and conducts self-review of work before submission to reviewer.
  • Takes responsibility for service quality, thoroughness and accuracy; proactively works with client and in-charge to gather data and follow-up on open items.
  • Assesses problem/issue materiality and interprets the implications for the client.
  • Stays current on regulatory and industry issues and shares applicable information with others.
  • Consistently takes on work outside of “comfort zone,” asks for stretch assignments to develop.
  • Prepares more complex projections, provisions and returns with accuracy and according to Firm policies and procedures.
  • Performs the broadest range of tax tasks so that direct participation of supervisors, managers, or partners is kept to a minimum.
  • Dedicates time to coaching others in software knowledge, business process, research skills/resources, technical expertise, planning and project management.
  • Identifies and develops alternatives for issues and consults with engagement team.
  • Masters the Firm’s software, research technology tools and related products to accomplish work efficiently.
  • Works extended hours as needed during peak busy periods or as needed to meet deadlines as well as partner and client expectations.
