Joel specializes in Client Accounting Services (CAS), interim controller support, financial reporting, accounting system troubleshooting, and audit and assurance services. His experience allows him to provide clients with a balanced perspective that supports both day-to-day operations and long-term financial visibility. He frequently helps clients resolve operational and accounting issues that fall outside the traditional scope of tax or financial reporting requirements, offering practical solutions that improve efficiency and support informed decision-making.
At Atherton, Joel supports clients in industries including agriculture, healthcare, construction, professional services, real estate, and not-for-profit organizations. He also works closely with the firm’s Assurance, CAS, and Consulting teams to oversee engagements, review deliverables, coordinate staff, and mentor team members through training and technical guidance. Clients and colleagues value his straightforward approach and ability to simplify complex accounting processes into manageable solutions.
Outside of work, Joel enjoys snowboarding, fishing, softball, and coaching Little League baseball during the spring season.
