Assurance Manager

Atherton & Associates, LLP is seeking a self-motivated, client-focused individual to join our team as a Assurance Manager to help us continue to provide the excellent client service that we are known for.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred concentration in Business Administration or Accounting, from an accredited college or university. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Current California CPA license.
  • A minimum of 6 years relevant experience.
  • Supervisory experience with staff in planning, performing, and completing audit engagements.
  • Strong technology skills and proficiency with all aspects of Microsoft Office. Working knowledge and experience with ProSystem fx Engagement and CaseWare are a plus.
  • Ability to develop professional relationship with clients and gain their respect and confidence by consistently delivering excellent work product and providing exceptional client service, including planning and consulting. In summary, becoming the trusted advisor that clients seek.
  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, ability to listen effectively.
  • Ability to professionally maintain a high level of interaction with clients.
  • Passionate about developing associates and senior associates through delegation, training, and coaching.
  • Ability to lead, prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Superior client service with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple assurance engagements by overseeing the planning, organizing, and execution of engagements. Provide business and advisory services to our audit clients.
  • Review research findings, workpapers, formulates conclusions consistent with the Firm’s policies and professional standards, and determines implications and best course of action for the client.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal and external business partners as required in order to provide exceptional value to clients.
  • Develop a professional relationship with clients and gain their respect and confidence by consistently delivering excellent work product and providing exceptional client service.
  • Proactively assist the Firm in generating new business opportunities and be involved in community activities for the purposes of business development and cross-selling the Firm’s services.
  • Provide training to co-workers and associates as needed on technical areas of expertise.
  • Delegate work effectively to ensure deadlines are met, team is held accountable and has development/growth opportunities.
  • Train, supervise, coach, motivate and evaluate department staff.
  • Give insight and thought leadership to the Firm on audit/assurance matters.
  • Stays abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to the Firm’s industries.
  • Holds a position of leadership in a community, business, or professional organization.
  • Create and maintain continuing professional education schedule for department staff.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours during peak busy seasons.
